Hello Again...

Hello again. It's been a while. It's nice to get back to posting, even if lately it's been far and few. Thank you to those who read this blog. Thank you for those who are regularly checking back, or who are new.  Thank you for your emails and concerns. It really does make my day and warms my heart when I hear from those who I have never met, but who I feel I know because of this little space. So from the bottom of my heart thank you.

Life is great, just busy. That is why I have taken much longer in between posts. Finding time for everything can be quite the juggling act. There are some days I feel like I can juggle with my feet, and  then other days I drop every dang ball that comes my way. So that is why yesterday I fed my "to-do list" to the birds (figuratively speaking, because well, I really need that to-do list) and set out for a fun afternoon with the kiddies.

We went to The New Childrens Museum downtown and it was just what the doc ordered. This place has so much color, and creativity. Everything is from recycled material which I think is so amazing!

At the end of the day I asked Sage (4 yrs. old) what her favorite part was. She paused and replied, "Oh gosh that's a hard one. I'd say making our own paper." and then she asked me what my favorite part was. I thought for a second and said, "watching you make your own paper." She just smiled.

To watch these little girls of mine learn and create is hands down one of my favorite things to see. I love being their mom, so much.

Fairy Birds and Valentines...

There was a special delivery at our doorstep the other day and I'm 100% sure Sage was beyond excited about it! My sweet friends (and authors of Fairy Birds) Heather and Heidi, have created a magical book full of color, delightful illustrations and most importantly a beautiful message. It teaches children the importance of service, kindness and love. Sage's favorite part of the whole thing was (of course) the amazing wings and the "givie hearts"...

So in honor of Fairy Birds, and in the spirit of giving...she made special Valentines for her favorite people; all while sporting her "magical wings"! Thankfully, she had some help from our babysitter Emma who glued and glittered the hearts...but Sage filled bags of candy and even drew individual tags for each valentine she gave out.

I adored every second of watching her smile ear to ear while waiting in aniticipation to give out these little labors of love. We may have gotten a little picture happy, but honestly it was all to amazingly adorable not to!

coloring on the go...

You guys, I found the perfect on the go toy!

A couple weeks ago when we traveled out South to visit family and go out for my husbands work...I bought a bunch of little on the go things to occupy my children on the flight. A four hour flight with two babes under the age of 3 is worth buying a lot of "maybe this will keep them busy for a bit" things!

Thankfully this Water Wow on the go coloring book kept them occupied for quite some time...not to mention it's pretty neat to watch! YOu fill up a little paint brush with water and go to town. The colors suddenly appear..."like magic!" as Sage yelled while going to and fro with her brush.

I'm not gonna lie, it was kind of nice to not have to fumble through a bunch of coloring book pages, and scramble after dropped markers/crayons!

Anyways, moral of this post. If you have kids, you should get this. It's worth the 5 bucks!

we went to the museum...

Yesterday, we ventured to the San Diego Children's Discovery Museum with some friends...they had tons to do for our littles and so many colors everywhere! It's always neat to watch your kids learn and discover new things. My three year old even learned how to use a microscope! I don't think I knew how to do that until I was like twelve. Okay, maybe not that old but still. :-)

I decided to bring my big camera which I never do anymore (I only dropped it twice this time...go me). The iphone is just SO much more convenient, but the Rebel never disappoints when it comes to a clearer image.

I captured a few clever, colorful little things that you could even do in your own home! (ex: put handkerchiefs on top of a fan and watch them fly up a tube...entertainment at it's finest!)

Calling all GaMeRs...my favorite on-the-go games

Happy Monday to you! Holy smokes, forgive my absence, last week was jam-packed. My husbands family came into town and we had a big hoopla. Sage was in cousin heaven and I'm pretty sure we all got enough Vitamin D to last us the rest of the year.

Josh's family is super into games, which can go from super fun to super competitive where people are clawing each others eyeballs out. (slight over exaggeration, but honestly, there's some competitive blood running through their veins--but don't worry I totally smoked them at SCUM).

Anyways, I went over to my favorite toy store Geppetos to scout out some favorite on-the-go games for everyone (especially the kids) to play! We rallied up a few winners...
