Friday Color List...and bringing awareness

Happy Happy Friday to you! I have loved this week for a lot of reasons but mostly because it hasn't been super hot nor has it been super cold; it's been pretty perfect. I know for many of you on the East coast you want to punch me through the computer right now... :-/ and to you I say my door is always open for a visit to the sunshine!!!

Here are a few of my favorite finds this week. However, first and foremost I wanted to just say a little something about my #1 which came from a beautiful women named Heather who suffers from mesothelioma. She is trying to bring awareness to this horrible cancer that she is trying so hard to fight. She's an inspiration and a true fighter who will overcome this! Please spread the awareness...

Goin' Green...for your St.Patricks Day

I always love St.Patricks Day for the sole purpose of having a holiday devoted to the the color green (and gold of course) two of my favorite colors! We just got back from AZ for a sister weekend (all five of us plus the mama) and I found these little gold mine bubble gum nuggets at a shop there. I couldn't resists getting a bag for Sage. When I got home last night, I gave them to her (I couldn't wait til the morning) and she thought they were the neatest things!

This morning she came into my room and before a "good morning" or "hi" she whispered, "where is my magic gold?" haha oh the things that make kids happy is always mind blowing and so refreshing!

Anyways, I thought I'd share some of my favorite "GREEN" products....green in color, green for the environment, green fashion, green food. Ya know, just trying to cover all my bases :-).

Happy Friday...

Today has been pouring. non. stop. My kids slept in until 9 AM. I got to lay in bed and listen to the torrential downpour. There is something so nostalgic about rain. Not sure if it's the smell of the outside after a good washdown, or just the soothing sound of falling raindrops...but it takes me back to when I was growing up, and all I wished for was a rainy day so I could wear my rain boots and take my disneyland umbrella to school. Oh it's the simple things isn't it?! Simple things like staying in our pjs til noon and playing dress up...I'm slowly learning that simple things are the greatest things!

Anyways, so glad its Friday. Hope you have a glorious weekend! Here are a few pretty awesome things I've stumbled upon over the last couple weeks!

We have been trying to figure out what to be this year for Halloween...nothin' is comin' to me. I stumbled upon these old photos of when i was little and just had to share. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, always has been. I mean when else can you dress up like Dorothy?!

I've got my ten year highschool reunion tonight...yikes I cannot believe it's been ten years! I feel like these photos were taken just yesterday (I know, cliche, but true dang it).

MY FAVORITE FRUIT (AS OF LATELY)

Yesterday, I went to Costco--and bought enough fruit to feed an army. Everything just looked so good! I am sure it'll go bad before we eat it all (since I am pretty much the only one in my household who devours fruit)... I love putting cinnamon on it too! Which is also something you should try, considering its health benefits.

So I have stumbled upon some fantastic (and when I say fantastic I mean like mind blowing, super, duper great sites lately...) so I am not even going to ramble on and on about how ecstatic I am that it's the weekend and it couldn't have come soon enough. Or I am not going to go on, and on about how choosing tiles, fabrics and everything in between for a new home can be so overwhelming that I just want to bury my head in a hole...but we are movin' in the right direction oh yes indeedy!

Lil' Brown Box I love you...

***these photos dont have much to do with anything besides the fact that if your kids need something to do just whip out a box, cut a door and window in it, and let their imagination go wild. This brown box was my saving grace, and for an hour I was able to get some things done around here. ha***

Oh me, oh my. Can I just tell you how glad I am to finally have my things somewhat organized after the move last weekend. I think I would love to be a professional organizer...plus I get this ridiculous satisfaction in throwing things away. It drives Josh bonkers. Like he wants to drive me over a cliff bonkers. :-)

Our bags are packed but we aren't ready to go...

I have come to a harsh realization...I strongly dislike moving (and I would use the word hate however, I was always taught that "hate is the strongest of words and you should use it sparingly haha) I guess it's the messy mess that's all around me, and the change that I have no control over...oh and the fact that we thought we would be moving tomorrow however with some things that have happened on the buyers end (for the place we live in now) it looks like that is being pushed back another week. **sigh. Such a long and drawn out process I tell ya but oh it'll be worth it when we are nice and settled in our new place. Oh it will SO be worth it! But for now, we wait...and wait and wait. Until we hear hopefully (cross your finger and toes) good news!

Happy Dappy Dippity Doo Friday!

I know. I know. Why do we do this to our children? It's almost like we get this twisted satisfaction in freaking our kids out by taking them to sit on some strangers lap that resembles a red balloon with white furry trimming. At least it's only once a year right?! The weird thing is that Sage always says "I want to go see Santa..." and than when that moment comes, shear terror strikes and suddenly she forgets that she's the one who wanted to see him in the first place.

So, it's the weekend right before Christmas. Any fun plans? I think we are going to go iceskating! It's been far to long since I have put on some skates...wish me luck!

Orange you Glad it's Friday?!?!

Don't you love this idea? All you need is a few oranges (or lemons, or limes, or any citrus really) and some cloves. And, let me just say the smell is quite heavenly too! I am going to use it as a centerpiece...cheap and pretty to look at :-).

Hope you all have a great weekend...any fun plans? I think we are going to head up and visit Santa (for the tenth time this month ;-/) Sage can't get enough of the jolly old man. However, there's no way she'll sit on his lap! She just likes to admire him from afar. Thats alright with me, if she keeps that mentality for the next fifteen years I'll be a happy mama. (just keeping away from boys in general haha)

Red Apples

I'm from Illinois, so falls in the Midwest have always been magical times in my family. One of my favorite traditions growing up was the annual trip to the local apple orchard. We'd pet the animal, eat some fresh apple cider donuts and pick gorgeous red apples. The field seemed to go on for miles with rows and rows of apple trees, and it was so fun to try and find the reddest one!

Pastel always reminds me of childhood for some reason (maybe because they're the colors of Easter), but these pastel rings have been on my wish list for a few months now.

I love that the weekend is soon at hand. My little Sagey girl is turning TWO on Monday and so this weekend we are going to have a little bday party with family. I can't even believe it...I have a two year old?! And tomorrow is OH YEAH the Color Run...I'm pretty excited about it. TWo of my sisters and my mom are comin to join in the colorful festivities! I'll just have to remember to keep my mouth closed so that I don't have hot pink teeth by the end of it! ha Than, Sunday we are blessing baby Cozette...so it's going to be a very wonderful weekend indeed (at least I hope?!).

Friday Color List-a-roochy

Well, Happy Friday to you once again. Honestly, does it not seem like the weeks are just flying by? Before we know it, Christmas will be here and than a new year. This week was a monumental one...my little Cozette finally got the memo that waking up every two hours during the night was not such a great idea. So, for the last three nights she has only woken up ONCE! Yes just once! It's been the best thing since, well, since the last time I got a good night sleep ha.

It's Friday...woohoo wippidy wah!

I have gained a whole new appreciation for Fridays. It's the most anticipated day of the week for me, simply because for the next two days I have Josh home which means extra help with the kids and perhaps (just perhaps) a few extra minutes of sleep in the morning?!?! And that my friends, is what this weekend will consist of--oh and maybe I'll finish up a few DIY projects I've been itching to share with you! :-)

Pretty in pink (and mellow in yellow...)

There is something so sweet about a newborn baby girl in pink...and the yellow blanket is from my mom--I told her I wouldn't mind if she made me one in "big girl size"--it's about the softest thing I've ever felt...it's like a tranquilizer, as soon as I wrapped the babe in it she fell dead asleep!

Yesterday, my sister Rachael took a few newborn pictures of our little Cozette...and I just can't get enough of them. So I figured I'd share them for my Friday Color List: THINGS THAT MAKE MY EYES SING-because lets be honest I could stare at this little peanut all day long!

It's Friday and I'm still pregnant...

I know that my due date isn't until September 6th...but when you go to the doc and they tell you (almost three weeks ago) that your dilated, you think "oh, I'm totally going to have this baby early!" So with each passing day you become more and more anxious thinking your water is going to break at any given moment. Oh, lets just say it makes for long days and weeks indeed! I think baby girl #2 is quite content with making me feel like I'm going to split down the middle. ;-) The joys of it all!

Hope your weekend is splendid...whatever that "splendid" may entail...mine hopefully involves a new baby being born! (I know, I'm totally jinxing it aren't I!?!)

Friday Color List...yee-haw!

Yesterday was my 27th birthday...just a few more years and I'll be 30!?!?! whoa. I must say, year 26 was one of my favorites! A lot of that has to do with this blog--it has motivated me to delve into my creative side. It has caused me to, as my ole' art teacher would say, "think outside the box".  It has helped me realize that I can do and create whatever I set my little mind to (not sayin' it always turns out but hey, at least I attempt it right?!? lol)...and I've LOVED getting to know so many absolutely WONDERFUL people along the way! SO here is to one year older...***cheers!

On a side note...this photo of my little S is one of my all time faves. I snapped it while she was sifting through her books one morning. She was so incredibly into what she was reading that she didn't even notice I was "paparazzing" her cute little self! ha. Her imagination is getting more colorful and creative with each passing day and my gosh I just can't get enough! Oh I just want to squeeze her all day long...(but I refrain...for the most part).
