A walk to the mailbox...

"In reality, there aren’t many things in a day that are totally without significance. Even the mundane and repetitious can be tiny but significant building blocks that in time establish the discipline and character and order needed to realize our plans and dreams."  -D.Todd Christofferson
***quote from this article

I read this the other night, and it really has had an impact on me; especially over the last couple days. Yesterday, as Sage and I made our "insignificant" walk to the mailbox...this article came to my mind. I always point out the flowers, the sky, the fire hydrant. Yesterday was different though, yesterday she pointed to the hydrant and exclaimed "lello" (she has never done this before...)! I could have cried I tell ya! I said, "YES that is yellow!" and right then and there I KNEW that those daily, mundane walks to get the mail was a very significant building block indeed!

It is seemingly fitting that yellow is the first color she has verbally recognized...simply because she is such a cheerful and bright little one. Oh how I love her.

I guess I needed to just be reminded of such a simple thing. Even a stroll to get the bills can be something special! (The sunset last night was so beautiful...not a cloud in the sky)
