A Baby Shower

Before I am Italy bound (tomorrow is the day!) I wanted to share some photos of this last weekend! I threw a little shower for my dear friend Jamie. She is having her second little boy, and she said she didn't need a shower, but I think every baby deserves a little something! :-) I feel like showers these days have become almost like mini receptions--with all the lovely inspiration out there (pinterest, etc.) it's hard to not feel a bit overwhelmed with trying to go "above and beyond". So for her shower, I decided to keep it simple--at least I tried to keep it simple?! We met at a cafe where everyone ordered their own lunch, and than I provided dessert (since I'd much rather bake then cook, it seemed perfectly fitting *wink)

Blue and green was my color theme...I even got to incorporate one of my favorite flowers, hydrangea and luckily the air market had blue ones! Flowers just make everything prettier!
Here is the invite I designed, keeping with the color theme of course :-)
food recipes:
oreo balls, yellow bundt cake w/ strawberries & whipping cream, rice crispies in mini cupcake holders
party favor: Jewel Lullaby CD

I have some fun posts scheduled for while I am gone--and I simply can't wait to share all my experiences with you when I get back! Ciao! (that is the extent of my Italian ha pathetic, I know)

  1. I think pinterest has warped our minds about showers/parties. Keeping is simple is so much easier. Lovely shower pictures. I love Hydrangeas too!
