Let's Chat...

So I want to start a new little thing here on Color Issue. Sort of like a "what do you think" post every so often. The topic with these posts are going to be "colorful" and by "colorful" I mean topics that people don't talk much about. Or those topics that are a little uncomfortable, or potentially controversial. Some will be humorous, some serious and emotional but they will all be "colorful" in context I can promise you that! Perhaps it'll encourage some of you non-commenters to share a thought or two (which I really would love to hear from you!)

I wanted the first "colorful issue" to be something that we can all relate to. Something that we can all express a few words about (if you feel inclined to do so).

People, lets talk about the Bachelor. Whether you admit out loud that you watch it, or you're a closet bachelor/bachelorette fan, we are all one in the same. You watch it, enough said. No need to be embarrassed or ashamed, it's straight up entertainment at it's finest. I mean that from the very bottom of my "ABC thank you for showcasing such drama" loving heart.
I watched this show from the very beginning. Oh yes, I am an avid Bachelor/Bachelorette fan. From Trista to Sean I've been there week in and week out. I actually use to post on my family blog weekly recaps. I stopped about the time I had my first baby. Ya know the whole "baby" thing out trumped the "weekly recap" simply because I wanted to sleep rather than think up a bachelor post.

So here's the colorful issue question:
Bachelor/Bachelorette...Is the single man that's getting tongue action from twenty five ladies or the single woman getting swooned by twenty five hormone raging (some single some not...Wes you bad boy) men worth the weekly viewing or straight up a waste of time?

I'd love to know your thoughts...simply because well I just would.

  1. I'm SOOOO lame! I think I'm the only loser who hasn't seen the bachelor/bachelorette. I've attempted an episode every few seasons and I can't. I just can't! I'm forcing myself next season though. I'm tired of being the only idiot who can't join in conversation when it comes up :)

  2. I stopped watching it for about 10 seasons and just watched Sean's season and how I'm hooked all over again. I like to read live tweets and everyone's funny recap the next day. It's just a lot of entertainment for me!

  3. It probably is a waste of time but then again, isn't any tv show that you watch a waste of time in reality? I mean think about it. You spend hours of your life staring at a screen, no matter what show it is. That in general could be considered a waste of your time and life. But we all do it, so on the subject of The Bachelor, I would say waste of time but an entertaining waste of time. I think some people judge a little harshly if you watch this show. They freak out that you agree with such disgusting behavior of a guy making out with a bunch of women and then picking a wife in the end. But the truth is, I don't think any of us agree with anything the bachelor's are doing. We just love a ridiculous and entertaining show that is fun to make fun of. And sure it is a waste of time, but a good one haha "I can't control my eyebrow!"

  4. I freaking love the bacholer... i watched it when it first came out on TV, realised it was trash, but then about a year ago i started watching it again for ben's season (THE BEST SEASON!! the courtney drama was amazing) -- and now I am hooked. Every season I am watching it on monday nights. It's so much fun! I watch it now with my boyfriend and his parents too - we make a date of it every week. Don't get me started on bacholer pad.. that show is pure gold. Too bad it looks like it won't be back this summer :'(

  5. It's definitely a waste of time. I don't watch the show, but who am I to judge someone who likes it? Most TV shows are a waste of time, unless they're educational.

  6. I'm sort of a fair weather Batch (what my mom & I call it, haha) fan. It's definitely super entertaining, especially the male version (women are the more dramatic sex).

  7. Completely unnecessary to watch this show, especially when you can just read Ashley's recaps on Tuesday mornings: http://www.ashleyjonesy.com/2013/02/the-peoples-eyebrow.html Sooooooooo much better than watching the actual show!!

  8. I love it and don't know why. I'm seriously considering not watching this next season with Des as the Bachelorette. I think they need to start fresh and use someone they've never used before.

  9. I would definitely agree that it is a total waste of time, but I don't ever miss an episode!! I look forward to it every week!

  10. I watched one of the first seasons ever and was hooked but I stopped watching because each season seemed to go downhill. It's too sleazy now.

  12. I don't even have a TV but I totally follow along with blogger's recaps and people.com/watch it at the gym occasionally, so that's how cool I am haha. I'm generally very skeptical of the show, but to be honest, I adored Sean this season & have high hopes (why? who knows!) that he and Catherine will make it work! OMG so much lamer when I actually have to type it out & admit that haha
