Remember when I mentioned I bought a rocking chair at Goodwill for $29...it was just to good of a deal to pass up! A chair with serious potential but needed some serious TLC! As I loaded it into my car (well, lets be honest, as I watched Josh load it into the car) I thought "what did I get myself into?!". Now, about three weeks later, I am happy to report that the ugly duckling chair has indeed turned into a swan (ha ya like that metaphor?!). After a little sanding, priming and painting...and some new cushions that my mom sewed for me--it's done! It actually turned out better than I imagined; I simply cannot wait to rock my little babe in it! Amazing what a little paint can do...
Oh I really love what you did... perfect!!!

ReplyDeleteIt looks great and I love your rug!
ReplyDeleteStop it! That is so cute. I love the design of that chair.
ReplyDeleteI love this transformation! I always get excited for projects like this but somewhere along the line, I think to myself, "I bit off more than I can chew". Thanks for the inspiration! The end result is enough to make it all worth it.
ReplyDeleteI made some Frozen Cherry Soda Bites that I think your little one will love. :)

ReplyDeleteI was to lazy and didn't take photos--so no tutorial :-( but if you ever need any help/suggestion/questions send them my way (at least when it comes to attempting to do something like this...hopefully I'll have a few helpful tips?!?!)
DeleteThat is adorable!! I can not believe its the same chair?! Bravo mama!!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I actually just started a new blog last week called Ugly.Duckling.diy. It's all about finding items that are free or cheap and fixing them up to be a beautiful addition to my home.
ReplyDeleteThe Goodwill in Santee is my favorite thrift store. I can always find something that I want. This is funny cause I'm going there tomorrow and I'm going to do a post on my blog titled "Thrift Store Thursday", about whatever I may find that day. Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteI know that one is totally the best Goodwill I've been to in a long while!
DeleteWow that's amazing!!! So inspiring :) Goodwill always has such amazing hidden treasures!
ReplyDeleteoh wow! I am impressed! My mom bought me a super expensive rocking chair (that i love), but I never would imagine that you could make something ugly so beautiful!!! I am just not that creative! Love this.
ReplyDeleteHey...I'd take the expensive one in a heart beat! A lot less work! ha
Deleteyeah that looks great! you're such a visionary!
ReplyDeleteoh my it's lovely! love the colors :)
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing. Good job!
ReplyDeleteWhat?!?!? That's freakin' uh-mazing!! Love the chair, the rug, the pillow, the ottoman, the wall decals. EVERYTHING!! Hurry up and finish the room so we can see!!!!
ReplyDeleteha Lela...you're comments always crack me up--I wish I could say I was posting the finished nursery TODAY but I have a problem...my little Sagey girl is currently taking over the crib and sorta kinda refuses to move into a "big girl bed" so the nursery is cribless which makes nursery #2 slightly incomplete :-(. Maybe I"ll post w/o the crib !?!?!
DeleteJust make your hubby drag the crib into the nursery for a photo shoot and then drag it back to Sagey's room for her to sleep! That's what hubbies are for!!! Use and abuse :)
Deletewow you are really good at the DIY-ers big or small!
ReplyDeleteloving it!
