I love buying old books (you can find GREAT deals at salvation army or thrift stores) and taking those ugly paper slips off to expose their true cover! They usually have a very vintage and colorful look to them! So to add color to my side table, I put a couple books underneath my lamp (plus it added some height)!
Books are SUCH a great way to get creative and add not only character but COLOR to any room--and that my friends is why I love them so much! Here are some bookshelves that I really do A-D-O-R-E (minus the last one...that is just for a kicks and giggles)!
I love that Joy of Books video. I shared it with my English classes and they loved it too :-)
ReplyDeleteWe have a bookcase in our apartment filled with vintage books. I love thrifting unique books with a cool look! They really add a nice touch to a room :)

I agree. My law textbooks cost heaps of money but some of them don't re-sell well but since I don't want to toss them, I use them decors in my house. They are old bounded books with a vintage look so it gives the house a smart look ;)
ReplyDeleteI am loving the books that are set up by color. That is actually a really pretty look I would have never thought of myself. xo
ReplyDeleteI always adore having lots of books in my house, but somehow always come to the conclusion that they're too much clutter. But I've kicked that thought and have started collecting again. These pictures are great! I love the 2nd image (on the left). I want my house to look like that someday :)
ReplyDeletethat video is amazing love!

I wish I had enough books to do this in my house! Is it wrong if I don't read that much but use books for decoration to let on that I'm super smart? LOL
ReplyDeleteWow those are some amazing collections/shelves, the human shelves are kinda creepy but cool!

ReplyDeleteAs a fan of books you might want to check out "The Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore" a short animated film up for this year's Oscar for Animated Short Film. There's a link to the trailer on my blog or you can Google it. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteThese colorful book displays make me so happy! My dream is to one day have a home in my room that is just wall-to-wall books. And in that dream world I could just go in there and read all day long (and get paid for it! it's a dream, right?).
