LAST DAY TO ENTER THANKSGIVEAWAY #2!!!!
Hello! I'm Joanna, a writer for
Arcadian Lighting, a terrific online source for
light fixtures for every decorating style. Some color-timid decorators shy away from using bright hues on the walls.
Can you imagine being brave enough to paint your ceiling vivid orange or using bright floral wallpaper? Some decorators are doing just that with great success. We're loving the innovative way some of these rooms turn out!
A whimsical cherub amongst lilies and lily pads top off a vintage kitchen. A lack of upper cabinets keeps the kitchen from becoming crowded or feeling smaller.
A geometric pattern on this low ceiling gives an optical illusion. White on the bed and ceiling make the color on the walls pop.
A floral wallpaper adorns the ceiling of this small bedroom. The layering of so many textures could have been too busy, but it works well here!
A silver flocked ceiling makes a dramatic statement in this bright orange room. Modern furnishings, textiles and art blend well with the ornate traditional feel to the room.
A dramatic ceiling gives this traditional setting a sophisticated contemporary feel. The unusual lighting fixture might have looked odd but it marries the formal feel of the room with modern furnishings.
An outdoor room is finished with a Moroccan tile ceiling in shades of blue and yellow. A large light fixture goes with the opulent feel of this room beautifully.
So...what do you think about vibrant, boldly colored ceilings after these little pieces of inspiration?

Love this idea! I love the green room with twin beds. Thanks for sharing your giveaway and for stopping by my blog. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of an "accent ceiling." When I moved into my sister's old room at my parents house after college, my parents gave me free reign of how to decorate it. So I went with magenta walls and a black ceiling. It looked so sharp and edgy, I loved it. I'll never choose to have a white ceiling again. :)
ReplyDeleteCeilings are like giant blank canvases, offering so much room for color and pattern.
ReplyDeleteI love the elegant black ceiling in the ivory dining room, above, as well as the vibrant Moroccan tile ceiling in the outdoor room. One, restrained, the other over-the-top--and both gorgeous!
So pretty!
ReplyDeletelove idea from the second picture

I love a ceiling "fresco", but the use of wallpapers and tiles are also a clever way to brighten a ceiling. The Moroccan tile in hte last picture is fabulous!

I have always wanted to do this in my laundry room. A bright paisley or floral pattern with white walls... everyone thinks I am crazy, but after seeing this I have to do it. I love how much this adds to a room.
ReplyDeleteforces you to look UP, indeed. beautiful ceilings.
ReplyDeleteThat’s a beautiful kitchen painting in the first photo. Somehow, it reminds me of Michelangelo’s work in the Sistine chapel. I seldom encounter figure paintings on walls and ceilings. I hope I could see one before I grow old!
