Doin' it old school...

I swear I should have been born back in the day when they wrote with calligraphic pens and ink in a jar...than stamped it with one of these bad boys!
I got this wax sealing kit from my Mother in Law for Christmas a few years back and I have loved, loved, loved it! I have especially enjoyed finding new stamps to add to my collection. When we were in Italy this last April, I picked up a couple new stamps one of which is a tiny little elephant...it's probably my favorite so far! I guess it just adds a nice colorful touch to "seal the deal". (pun totally intended ha)

p.s. Etsy has some great places to find wax stamps and seals (great for the holidays I'm tellin' ya!)

Bleeding Caramel Apples

Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE Fall?! Just the very thought of pulling out my scarves and boots gets me ridiculously excited. Oh, and let's not even talk about all of the delicious food that comes with the Fall season. Okay actually, lets do talk about it. Yesterday, I added a creepy Halloween twist to the traditional caramel apple! I have decided I think I just might in fact like caramel more than chocolate! There is nothin' like a warm spoonful of melted caramel (in my opinion at least hehe).

BLEEDING CARAMEL APPLES
all you need is:
-apples
-bag of caramels (I got the Bach ones)
-sticks
-red food dye
Add about 2 TBS of milk to your caramels...
and on very low heat, slowly stir until melted. holy yumness.
Than stab those apples with a fork and douce them in the melted goodness!
Sit them on wax paper to let dry.
For the "bloodiness" drizzle a few drops of red food dye to give it a creepy Halloween touch...
Than the last part, add your sticks to give it that "Fall feel".
There ya have it...they're bloody fantastic! :-)

Balloon Fading

I've had this project in mind for a while, and just haven't really gotten around to it...but yesterday I was in Party City and decided to get a few balloons that "fa-woated" (aka: floated) as my little S so eloquently says. I love the faded look that is so popular right now (ya know...faded color in hair, faded colors in dresses, scarves and even nails!) So I thought, why not on a balloons for a party or get together!?! Could you imagine 20+ white balloons all spray painted a different color--oh it would...well the only word I could think of describe it would be...awesome! **wink

Anyways, here was my attempt at a few different colors and it turned out just the way I pictured it!

Patriotic Ice Cream Sandwiches...yummmmo

Since tomorrow is Independence Day (for those who live in the U.S. of course) I wanted to squeeze in one last DIY recipe to share for your patriotic holiday; (& thanks to this months Martha Stewart Magazine for giving me a similar idea, I just couldn't resist!!!) However, I think these would be great for any occasion, just change up the color of sprinkles :-).

Oh, and let me tell ya', these were gone in a jiffy at our little picnic--which is a good thing because melted ice cream sandwiches is just no bueno! I think the cutest part about these is the ribbon and small details you use for around the sandwiches.

All you need is:
-icecream sandwiches (I got mini ones)
-ribbon (to put around the sandwiches)
-sprinkles (for dipping the ice cream edges in)

If a strawberry & a blueberry had a baby...

Hey y'all! Okay so I dont' know what it is about the Fourth of July that makes me want to kick back, throw on some cowboy boots and use southern slang like "y'all" while stuffing my face with BBQ ribs and coleslaw, but I just do!

This holiday makes for a great excuse to round up family and friends and have a big sha-bang...so I thought up a fun and simple way to incorporate the good ole' U.S.of A colors to create a succulent little treat for your festivities!

All you do is cut a strawberry in half, dig out the middle, stuff a blueberry in the hole...and seal it back up and dip it in whipping cream; than place in freezer until you're ready to devour!

Edible Accessory for the Patriotic Peeps

Today, instead of the usual Friday Color List...I decided to get a jump start on a fun little DIY project I came up with for one of my favorite holidays, the Fourth of July!!!

You could make these at a patriotic get together (kids would love it) or give as a cute little party favor. They were so easy to make, and I am always up for edible accessories (hey, hey now get your mind out of the gutter **wink)
Have a glorious Fathers Day Weekend...any fun plans?!?
***And just a little note to my very own Pops...
you're quite possibly the greatest dad a girl could ever ask for and I love you more than words could express.***

RED M&M's (with an element of surprise)!

I wish I could take credit for this brilliant idea, but I actually owe this one to my ever so clever husband! Believe it or not, way back when, this was how he asked me to Senior Prom--about ten years ago...yikes?!?!

However, this time around the message inside was a bit different...telling some of our close friends that indeed we were expecting baby #2! Oh, can you sense the excitement?!?! And what was even MORE fun was seeing their reaction once they realized they bit into a little surprise! :-)

Color around the Eyes...

I am a huge fan of Ray Bans. Even though I have been very blessed with good eye sight (knock on wood)  there is still a small piece of me that would love to have an excuse to buy and slap a pair of these puppies on! They just add such a nice touch of spunk without being over the top. I remember when I was in middle school I got a pair of "fake" eye glasses just b/c I wanted to wear glasses SO bad ha,  oh those were the days I tell ya! :-)

As I was perusing all their options, I thought I'd share some of my faves. I know the yellows are a bit 'sunshine-harry-potterish' but gosh with the right look they would be simply fantastic!!! Do you wear glasses and if so do you choose a frame that is more trendy or classic?

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO YOU!!!!
